Defensive Player

This is where I will post the PhinSpot Defensive Player of the week. And at the end of the year I will post the PhinSpot Defensive player of the year. (According to me of course) you can tell me if im right worng or even if you don’t care. No Jets bashing here please 🙂

2009 PhinSpot Defensive Player of the Year:

Yeremiah Bell

Yeremiah Bell

  Yeremiah Bell | #37 | SS

COMB TCKL SCK INT
114 1.5 3

This was a fairly easy choice for me. Yeremiah Bell has been one of the most consistent players on this team. Not to mention he’s an all-around great guy. He had the most tackles on this team and he had the second most INT’s on the team setting a career season high of 3. And let’s not forget that he made his first Pro Bowl Appearance. Hopefully Bell can stick around for a few more years and continue to progress and mentor future talent. Close runners up were Vontae Davis,  and Cameron Wake (If he had more playing time)

2009 PhinSpot Defensive Rookie of the Year:

Vontae Davis

Vontae Davis

Vontae Davis| #21 | CB

COMB TCKL   SCK   INT   TD
52   0   4   1

This was a very easy choice for me. Leading the team with 4 int.’s and one pick 6. Vontae Davis was tested this year against some of the leagues best Wide outs. His rookie season had some ups and downs but overall his first season in the NFL was solid. Here is to hoping he improves even more and is around for many years to come. Close runners up were Sean Smith, and Cameron Wake (you know)
